The Bengston Energy Healing Method

Deep Tissue Massage
Slow, deep strokes are used to release holding patterns and tension in the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints). Deep tissue massage is best for chronic pain, injuries and athletes.
Breathing techniques, myofascial, Swedish and deep tissue massage to help the patient attain optimal reproductive health and ultimately conceive. Fertility massage can help increase blood flow to the uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes, balance the hormones, detoxify the organs, and thicken the uterine lining. This massage style also reduces stress and enhances the overall mental well-being of the intended mother.
Hot Stone Therapy
In hot stone therapy, smooth, water-heated stones are placed at key points on the body and used as extensions of the hands for massage. As each stone cools, the therapist replaces it with another. Hot stone therapy provides deeper muscle and tissue relaxation, improved circulation and has a detoxifying effect. Especially helpful for fibromyalgia and arthritis.
Fascia is a very densely woven, web-like covering that penetrates every muscle, bone, nerve, artery and vein. Without the use of oils or creams, your therapist will apply gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. Good for post-surgery, inflammatory responses and acute traumas.
Pre-natal massage uses special positioning and techniques to alleviate pain, tension and creative overall relaxation for mothers-to-be. We use memory foam wedges and body pillows for comfortable positioning. We also have special pregnancy tables with a cutout for the belly so the expectant mother can lie prone.
The Reiki practitioner uses light touch over your body’s energy centers (chakras). It is common to feel warmth, cold, tingling or subtle pulsations coming from the practitioner’s hands. Some people have emotional releases during a treatment; others drift off to sleep or have visions. A sports massage is geared toward athletes and the particular stresses they place on their bodies. Special techniques are used to help athletes avoid injuries, cool down after exertion and enhance overall performance. Sports massage concentrates on increasing motion and flexibility, relieving muscle soreness, and promoting a quick recovery from muscle overuse by flushing out lactic acid from the muscles. We have experience treating both amateur and professional athletes alike.
In Swedish massage, the goal is to relax the entire body. This is achieved by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. Your practitioner will also use circular pressure applied by the hands and palms, firm kneading, percussion-like tapping, bending and stretching. Swedish massage is beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.
Also known as “the lazy man’s yoga,” Thai bodywork combines passive stretching and movement of joints with several touch techniques and work along energy meridians (called sen in Thai). The whole treatment is a graceful, nurturing, interactive dance that is sensitive to the condition of each person. It can be done on a mat on the floor or on a table. The effect of Thai bodywork is greater flexibility, joint mobility, flow of energy, deep relaxation, and feeling of well being.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger points are areas of chronic “stagnation” that can refer to other areas. A trigger point or adhesion in the neck, for example, can radiate pain to the temple and cause a migraine. Trigger point therapy relieves the source of your pain (which is not always where you feel it) through cycles of isolated pressure and release. The recipient actively participates by breathing deeply and identifying the exact location and intensity of the discomfort.
